Somers fights for schools in her district

Eastern Connecticut’s children have long been forgotten by the current administration. Fortunately a new one is right around the corner. With no guarantee that this state’s funding will be restored to its proper levels, precautions must be taken to ensure our children's schools are funded and that the students have the resources they need to be successful in their studies.

The best precaution is to re-elect Senator Heather Somers. She has fought the administration every step of the way as it levied millions in cuts across the district. She helped Groton get its funding restored and fought to make sure this funding is maintained in future years. She held meetings with every superintendent in the district to better understand what their needs were.

Senator Somers has fought for our children through two bipartisan budgets and will do it again regardless of which way the Senate swings in November. Somers should be sent back to the Senate to continue to protect our district’s schools.
