    Lyme-Old Lyme Wildcats are winners

The Lyme-Old Lyme Wildcats boys basketball team did not win the state championship Division V game. They are winners, however, in other great ways.

Beginning with last year’s impressive display of support for our coach when his contract was not renewed, the team and community truly came out in force. We rallied and it worked. This year is the first time ever for Lyme-Old Lyme to make it to the state championship.

This young team (just four seniors), is strong and determined. Not only that, but they are the kind of kids you’d want your kids to be around.

Family and friends filled many seats for the Lyme-Old Lyme High School players. That’s a given, of course, but the victory lies in the dozens who came out to support because of community, passion and caring.

For our boys to look into the stands and see and hear that outpouring of encouragement is fantastic. That is a huge win.
