Anthropology proves Trump comments were not racist
Please, do not use the word, "Racist" incorrectly. In your editorial, “Trump’s racist trope must be condemned,” (July 16), you state that "Trump's racist trope must be condemned when he talked about representatives, Ocasio-Lopez, Omar, Tlaib, and Pressley. The three basic races in physical anthropology are Caucasoid, Negroid, and Mongoloid. White Americans are descendants from any of the indigenous peoples of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Somalis are an ethnic group belonging to the Cushitic people inhabiting the Horn of Africa and are mixed sub-Saharan African and West Asiatic group. Puerto Ricans on average are 64 percent European, 21 percent West Africa and 15 percent Taino American Indian. Palestinians are from a Semitic branch of the Caucasian race. On average, African Americans are of West and Central African and European decent and some also have Native American Ancestry. So basically, a lot of Americans are mixed race.
It is interesting that the definition of "White" has changed over the course of U.S. history. Finns, Greeks, Irish, Italians, Russians, Spaniards and Swedes have been considered non-white in the past, due to their positions of being servants. The president's issues with the four new congresswomen is about their ultra-liberal agenda and not race.
