Alberti will bring needed reforms if elected in East Lyme

I read the editorial, “Big surprise estimate for East Lyme police building concerning,” (Oct. 16), for our new police station. Our current first selectman and his team represented that the cost to renovate the building for the police station would be $2.2 million but we now learn that the real cost is probably going to be more than $5.8 million. That's a $3.6 million mistake, and we don't have the money in the bond to pay for it. It is not clear how our first selectman could make such a huge mistake, and unfortunately the taxpayers will have to pay for it.

What is clear is that we need a frst slectman that has the financial experience, business background and integrity to lead East Lyme.

I think Camille Alberti is that person. Camille has the education and experience to do the job. She has worked in financial management and has helped in restructuring Fortune 500 companies. While at Deloitte, she was known for completing projects on time and on budget.

Most importantly Camille is honest and has integrity. Camille will make sure that we have real ethics reform and the town's bidding process is fixed and is fair and transparent.
