Warren pushing for change nation needs

I disagree with your editorial, “How to lose to Trump in 2020,” (Nov. 10), regarding Elizabeth Warren as "driving voters to Trump." When I see people having to start "Go Fund Me" pages on the internet to pay for medical bills it is embarrassing as an American. Especially when so many countries cover health care expenses better.

Of course, there will probably be some increase in taxation, but what do you call the thousands we spend on insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses and enrollment costs going up each year? All that money goes into insurance company pockets.

It would be encouraging to see voters vote for what resonates, rather than guessing what red states will do and hoping to get the next best thing. Warren sounds radical, and she probably won't be able to get everything she wants, but at least it's a start in the right direction. I haven't seen accounting proof that her ideas will or won't work, but I'm not going to assume they won't, as you espouse. Change is hard. We are going to need it in more arenas than just health care. Status quo is not working. I believe a candidate like Joe Biden would be too busy trying to keep friends to change anything.
