Need thoughtful plans to reopen schools

Recent analysis indicates that the transmission rate of the COVID-19 virus is lowest among children aged 10 or less and increases coincident with age. If that tendency could be validated, I would then propose that elementary schools be opened first, with all proper physical safeguards imposed, and with every child being tested frequently to ensure that all remain well.

If that method proves successful, then middle school could be next, followed by high school, both with the same protection protocols. Any outbreaks could then be detected and halted before they spiral out of control. The Trump administration directive to open schools (under threat of losing federal funding) without any specific, detailed, and thoughtful plan, is simply irresponsible and life-threatening.
