Dump anti-mask Dubitsky and keep kids safe

Rep. Doug Dubitsky has filed an appeal in Superior Court to reverse the decision of the State Department of Education requiring students to wear masks in public schools, with exceptions for health reasons. Dubitsky said, “Requiring children to wear masks, we believe, infringes on that right (fundamental right to an education) because they are not going to get the education they deserve."

It is pretty hard to understand how wearing a mask will impede learning. Most of us have been wearing masks and going about our business for months.

Dubitsky further says, “Where is the evidence that there is any benefit to a child whatsoever? We haven’t seen it."

Obviously, Dubitsky is not reading guidance based on research that has been issued by medical doctors and epidemiologists. It is a fact. COVID-19 spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs or sneezes. The infected persons may not know of their infection. So, wear a mask. Keep your droplets to yourself.

And, vote for Kate Donnelly, who believes in science, and keeping our students, teachers, and school staff safe.
