Day publicity helped tree-planting campaign for New London
Thank you to The Day for announcing the New London Trees crowdfunding campaign, “New London Trees starts fundraiser for new plantings in the city,” (Dec. 25). The generosity of members of our community exceeded our $5,000 goal making it a TREE-mendous success. Sustainable CT will contribute $6,200 to support our project through their Community Match Fund. We have partnered with the Public Works Department to plant native trees in several locations throughout the city this spring, including species such as oak (Quercus bicolor), pepperidge (Nyssa sylvatica) and tulip (Liriodendron tulipfera).
