Bankless Bank Street a sad development in downtown New London

Say it isn't so! The last remaining "real" bank in downtown − in a beautiful building with a vault − is slated to be closed ("Liberty Bank to close New London branch on Bank Street by Oct. 1," June 4)?

Perhaps the corporate gods could have a heart instead of a bottom line on this one. We walking New London residents and business owners have really enjoyed conducting our business. And we certainly would like to avoid any more vacant spaces. Perhaps I will get a sandwich board and march outside in protest?
