Support Ledyard Democrats for school board
Nov. 2 is the election in Ledyard and there are a lot of good Democratic candidates for Board of Education and the Democratic Town Committee is working hard to ensure that their extremely impressive candidates win in November. All of the candidates are:
• “Invested in our schools: provide the necessary resources for all students to have the opportunity to meet their education goals;
• Encourage and support involvement and input from students, parents, and teachers to make policies in the best interest of our students;
• Implement policies to recruit educators and staff that reflect the diversity of our student body;
• Insist on transparency, clear communication, and collaboration between the administration, staff, parents, and students;
• Rely on trusted resources for making health, science, and education policy that promotes and protects our students' health and safety at all times,” (ledyarddtc.com/candidates.html).
There is not enough space to list all of the exceptional experiences that these candidates bring to the table. So, I urge all Ledyard voters to see for yourself at the ledyarddtc.com.
I cannot wait to see all the good the DTC is ready to do.

The Day cartoons often depict views I disagree with, but they are usually witty with a modicum of face validity, not a humorless rant. The cartoon published Sunday, May 15 is just the rant. It is a malicious...
Inflation and the blame game
The administration's encouragement of high inflation through profligate spending is a regressive tax on all Americans, but especially the poor. The scheme to "forgive" all student loan debts will also exacerbate inflation. Both wages and social security benefits are negative when adjusted...
