I encourage East Lyme residents to vote Nov. 2 in our municipal elections.

Jason Deeble is a superior candidate and has my full support for the East Lyme Planning Commission. He is an extremely talented professional with a diverse skill set ranging from teaching, creative talents in music, art and writing. Jason is very devoted to our community and has children in our school system. His ability to build consensus is driven by seeking input from others before making important decisions. Once this is attained, he is an action-oriented leader.

East Lyme faces many challenges ahead with development, conservation and open space opportunities. It is important that we have visionary leaders who may take us to achievement of our Plan of Conservation and Development. Quality of life is an important factor in East Lyme's future, and I encourage all eligible voters to participate and especially to vote for Jason Deeble. Support our slate of Democratic candidates who are both talented and possess integrity. It is time for East Lyme's government to be transparent and responsive.

If we think globally, we must act locally and the best way to do that is to participate and encourage others to do so in our town elections.
