I am moved to comment on the photograph and story which appeared on the front page of The Day, "A couple's pandemic-shadowed farewell," (Jan. 12). The raw emotion captured in the picture is testimony to the power of love and the devastation of impending loss which has become tragically common now. I was reduced to tears reading about this couple's 72-year love story ... what a gift they gave to each other! I had no doubt that Mrs. Wolfe would return to the facility to be with her husband when he passed. I am sure the photograph by Sarah Gordon will be treasured by the family and I hope it will bring them comfort. I also think it will also prove to be one of the Day's best pictures taken this year and is deserving of recognition.
