The war on ... prairie dogs?

I have to laugh when Republicans argue that assault weapons and high-capacity magazines are necessary to control prairie dogs and varmints. How embarrassing!

I am not a gun nut, but I never had trouble shooting groundhogs in our backyard using a single shot 22 when I was 12. Do today’s Republicans really need an assault weapon and a high-capacity magazine to neutralize a prairie dog? Perhaps a gun safety course and marksmanship training should be required.

AR-15s have more destructive power than the M-16s issued to our troops in Vietnam. These weapons of war are designed to kill lots of people quickly and have no place on the streets of America.
