Christmas decorations or food banks?

New London received $14,000, and what are they going to spend it on, Christmas decorations. How long are those decoration going to be up? A month? Why be so frivolous and just plain waste the money. I am a very conservative person, so to me, it would be like getting $14,000 free money and going to the casino and blowing it, instead of using it for something I need.

Could New London use extra food at the food banks? What about those who are going to need heating assistance? Think of what else your mayor could do, and also the elected officials to help the people in their community? How many people in New London are going to enjoy those decorations, when they are worried about paying their rent, food and heating, and toys for their children? NONE!

Be wise, New London, and give the real "Spirit of Christmas" to those in need.
