Vineyard Offshore wind project a win-win for Connecticut
Not only is the proposed Vineyard Offshore wind project slated to bring clean, renewable energy to New England, it will also bring needed jobs to our region. It’s a win-win for southeastern Connecticut and helps to support a critical workforce development program at Survival Systems in Groton.
The training programs at Survival Systems help to prepare offshore wind workers to safely climb the towers, work in high winds and surf and carefully return to shore. Proper training is critical. This is a growing industry that will only benefit from the swift selection of Connecticut’s offshore wind developer. Since 2020, we have trained over 1,500 people working in the offshore wind industry. We hope Connecticut makes its selection soon, so we can help the region prepare for an exciting future.
