I don’t know about everyone else who reads your newspaper, but I’m tired of the constant negative articles about East Lyme Police Chief Michael Finkelstein by The Day staff writer Elizabeth Regan. I’m not condoning what he may have done, but to write about the same thing over and over again seems like a vendetta against him. Any other person, even those in sensitive positions, charged with a crime would have it written about only once or twice. He gets written about weekly. Nothing is ever mentioned of the stresses, especially in this day and age, that police personnel are constantly under. They are always under the microscope. You expect them to be perfect all the time, but give criminals the benefit of the doubt. Like the signs you see, “Support your local police.”
