Motorcyclists, do us a favor
To the more than 200 motorcyclists who took to the roads last Sunday, whether you were part of Pappy’s Run or another fundraising event on Route 2 in Stonington, please do us all a favor and stay in your lane. On three separate occasions, one that occurred on a tight curve, I encountered riders veering across the line and directly into my path, forcing me to take evasive action. It seemed as though those drivers were merely out for a joyride, with little regard for safety.
Additionally, to the motorcyclist sporting police lights on the front of his bike: I'm fairly certain that's illegal. I pulled over to the side of the road, navigating through traffic, while he continued on his joyride without a care. Let’s remember to prioritize caution and respect for all road users. I grew up riding motorcycles, so there’s no issue there. The issue is when you cross the double lines and put people’s lives in danger.
