The recent predatory rent increases at the Windward Village Apartments in Niantic left me shocked and disappointed. This exemplifies the urgent need for effective advocacy and action to protect residents who are exploited by our town’s lack of rent protections. Nick Menapace, a candidate for State Representative in Connecticut’s 37th district (East Lyme/Salem/Montville), starkly contrasts our current representative, Holly Cheeseman.

While Cheeseman has aligned herself with corporate interests, Menapace is a dedicated advocate for everyday residents. His focus on policies that benefit seniors, families and working people demonstrates his commitment to our community's well-being and our right to fairly priced housing. Nick Menapace supported the establishment of a Fair Rent Commission, recognized its importance for homeowners, landlords and renters alike.
