I am pleased that The Day's original site will be rehabilitated and reused. But I was disappointed to read that the company will move into the Frontier building on State Street. I regard it as that street's equivalent of the “Vessel” on Bank Street, a building that never should have been built where it is and which greatly detracts from the otherwise fine streetscape.

With all the empty office space downtown in historic buildings, the Frontier building seems an unfortunate choice. What a comedown for The Day to move from one of downtown's finest buildings to one of its worst.
