Hold China accountable for crimes against humanity
I would like to thank the U.S. House of Representatives for unanimously passing H.R. 4132, the Falun Gong Protection Act, on June 25. This crucial legislation aims to hold China accountable for these atrocities, which human rights lawyer David Matas describes as “a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet.”
For two decades, China’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting industry has thrived, perpetrating abuse of human rights. This heinous practice, deemed a crime against humanity, is one of the most egregious violations of medical ethics of our time. The international community first exposed this horror in 2006, revealing the forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience. In March, The China Tribunal’s 2020 conclusion confirms the widespread and systematic nature of these crimes.
I hope Connecticut residents will reach out to their Senate representatives and urge them to support and cosponsor S.4914, the Senate counterpart to H.R. 4132. By supporting this bill, we can deter forced organ harvesting, save innocent lives, protect U.S. citizens, medical centers and patients from complicity in these crimes.
