    Now that elections are over

What should we do with all of the political signs that have graced our lawns and buildings? Here are a few suggestions: Temporary roof repairs; tents/blankets for the homeless; kites for children to play with; hang gliders for the more adventurous; boarding up broken windows; papier-mâché projects for children and adults; wallpaper or other home décor; kindling for wood stoves; tag sale signs (backside); shelf and drawer liners; mudflaps for trucks or cars; shred them for pet cage liners; use the cloth signs for bedspreads or quilts; use the metal frames for plant supports in your garden; install the metal supports to build a fence; or save the signs without dates for the next election. It is a shame to just throw these items away when they could be put to some good use. We just need to be creative.
