The American Dream is for everyone
Every four years we elect a new president and must ask ourselves, are we living up to the dreams of our founders? Men who were wise enough to build a system of government designed to become more perfect with each election, yet lacked the insight to see beyond the prejudices of their time.
Some worry that the rights of certain citizens might be in jeopardy, especially those of women. It would benefit all of us, especially us men, to take a moment and reflect on this modern reality. Free men have had legal rights and cultural respect since our founding. Others have had to fight for it, and struggle even now for a fair chance at a good life. A real man reflects on this, respects women and all people, and has the courage to do his patriotic duty, to continue the struggle, to make sure that the promise of our nation is realized.
America is not perfect, nor are we the people. But we have the potential to be more perfect, if only we embrace the radical notion that our society works best when it provides all people with a fair life, freedom and a chance at happiness.
