A note to Bernie in his ivory tower
When I read Bernie Sanders’ submission in The Day (Nov. 20) of "No more arms sales to Netanyahu," I wondered why I didn't see a similarly hostile commentary from him toward Hamas immediately following the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israeli men, women and children? Maybe I just missed it. Nor do I now see him mention Hamas stealing humanitarian aid for itself and using Gazan civilians for human shields. I didn't see any recommendation for cutting off millions of dollars in U.S. funds to the Palestinians which have, no doubt, been and are presently being diverted to these genocidal maniacs, either.
I wonder if Sanders ever considered the reality that even though he lives in America, outfits like Hamas, Hezbollah and their sponsor Iran have a target on his back as well simply because he himself is Jewish? That he would deny his own people in their own homeland the resources to help them defend themselves just boggles my mind. Maybe he ought to to leave his safe ivory tower here in America for a little while, go to Israel and live under the siege conditions the Israelis have experienced ever since 1948? Maybe that would change his point of view.
