With the holiday shopping season upon us, I am calling for an increase in recycling pickups from our municipalities from biweekly to weekly recycling pickups and from Thanksgiving to New Years. The growth in e-commerce shopping has led to more cardboard arriving in our homes, allowing for it to pile up quicker and take up more space in our garages, basements and so forth. The same goes for when Christmas gifts are exchanged during the holiday season and wrapping paper and packaging linger for weeks due to the inefficient biweekly collection system. Perhaps the municipalities in the counties can work together on this and leverage economies of scale. The more involved, the better.
