    Weekly L+M lecture series begins Wednesday with concussion talk

    A lecture series that begins tonight at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital will present experts from the hospital's medical staff to talk about health topics from concussions to carpal tunnel syndrome.

    The first lecture in the six-part series will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the hospital's Baker Auditorium with a talk by Jonathan Piposar, an orthopedic doctor who will address the risk of concussions in sports.

    The program is free and open to the public, but hospital staff are asking people to reserve a spot by calling 1-800-562-2537 or online at lmhospital.org.

    Future lectures, all scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Baker Auditorium at Lawrence + Memorial, include a talk on heart disease and cardiovascular health on Oct. 19, one about breast cancer screening on Oct. 26, one about Parkinson's disease on Oct. 30, one about lung cancer screening on Nov. 9 and one about carpal tunnel syndrome on Nov. 14.
