Spine surgeon will speak Thursday in Norwich about new procedure

Norwich -- A spine surgeon will speak Thursday evening about a minimally invasive surgical procedure that could help some chronic pain patients.
Dr. Michael Halpernin will give a free seminar titled "Advances in Spine Surgery" sponsored by The William W. Backus Hospital from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hartford HealthCare System Support Office, 11 Stott Ave. in Norwich.
Halperin will speak about a newly available method for spine surgery that causes less blood loss, less muscle damage and a faster recovery.
