The 34th annual Nick Woviotis Memorial Scholarship Award will be presented on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Italian Dramatic Club on Goshen Street in New London.

This award is a continuing scholarship to a college-bound high school senior in financial need who, during his or her scholastic career, has distinguished himself or herself both academically and athletically by providing leadership and inspiration for teammates and classmates. The recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship and also will receive $1,000 each year during the remainder of his or her college career, making the total scholarship award $5,500.

The recipient must reside in New London, Waterford or East Lyme. Those interested may obtain applications from the guidance director at their school, i.e., New London High School, Waterford High School, East Lyme High School, St. Bernard School and the Williams School.

To date, scholarship awards in excess of $250,000 have been granted, including $13,000 in 2017.
