    March against gun violence to be held Saturday at Stonington High

    Stonington — Students and family members on Saturday plan to march at Stonington High School in solidarity with the larger March for Our Lives demonstration, which is taking place in Washington, D.C., and calling for an end to mass school shootings.

    The local rally will begin at 2 p.m. at Event Parking Lot C. From there, participants will walk just more than a quarter-mile along Spellman Drive toward the high school.

    In front of the high school, speakers will address the crowd. Scheduled speakers include:

    [naviga:li]Stonington High School students Hannah Lamb (a march co-organizer), Caroline Morehouse and Daisy Williams[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]State Rep. Diana Urban, D-North Stonington[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]State Rep. Joseph de la Cruz, D-Groton, and his wife, Tammy de la Cruz, who lost their son Joey Gingerella to gun violence[/naviga:li]

    Prior to the march, there will be two sign-making events: one at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and another at the Mystic River Yacht Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

    Registration is not necessary, but organizers are asking those who plan to participate in the march to RSVP by visiting bit.ly/MarchforLives.
