Journalist Howard Fineman to speak at Waterford's Temple Emanu-El

Waterford — Longtime journalist Howard Fineman will speak at Temple Emanu-El in Waterford on Sunday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m.

Fineman, an MSNBC political analyst, Newsweek columnist and NBC News contributing writer, will speak on national politics and the media in the age of President Donald Trump, according to a press release from Temple Emanu-El.

Fineman has covered Presidents Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, and has interviewed and written about every major presidential candidate since 1984. He previously served as global editorial director of the Huffington Post media group.

"We are thrilled that Mr. Fineman has agreed to share his insights with and visit southeastern Connecticut," said Judi Goldberg, president of Congregation Beth El. "It is a real 'coup' for our congregation."

Congregation Beth El, the Jewish Federation of Southeastern Connecticut and the Weiner-Tom Lecture Fund, are sponsoring the event.

A question-and-answer session will follow Fineman's presentation. Admission to the event is $18 per person; for a donation of $180, there will be a private reception and dinner prior to Fineman's appearance and speech.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Congregation Beth El office, (860) 442-0418 or email office@bethel-nl.org.
