Field prep in Stonington

Carl Holdridge operates a tractor Friday with a manure spreader in tow, spreading manure over a large field on the grounds of Wychwood Farm in Stonington. The former turkey farm was founded in 1966 and is owned by George and Ann Brown of Stonington, who still reside on the farm but have since retired. The field is used to harvest corn, providing nutrition for livestock, and rented to the Beriah Lewis Farm, a dairy farm in North Stonington. Holdridge has been farming the land on and off since the 1960s.
