Child and Family Agency collects donations May 3 for tag sale

Groton — Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut will collect contributions of little-used clothes and other items on May 3 in Groton to bring to one of the largest tag sales in New England.

Intake Day will be held from noon until 5 p.m. in the City of Groton Municipal Building, 295 Meridian St., where members of the Groton Auxiliary of Child and Family Agency will be standing by to greet donors and help them with their items. Tax donation letters will be available at the site.

Desired items include artwork, furniture, sporting goods, clothing, jewelry, household items, toys, tools, books, antiques, records and DVDs.

Auxiliary members will collect, sort, box and transport contributions to the New London Armory, 249 Bayonet St., for a three-day fundraiser regarded as one of the largest tag sales in New England. This year’s 64th Annual Sale will be held May 10-12 in the New London Armory.

The Child and Family Agency, a nonprofit organization, provides programs related to children’s mental health, health care, child abuse prevention, treatment of family violence, child care, and parent and child education. The organization served more than 18,000 children and family members from 79 towns in southeastern Connecticut last year.
