Max and Izzie came from the Humane Society at eight weeks, amd they are now pushing 8 years. While they did not come from the same litter, they bonded immediately and are in every sense brothers. We recently adopted a rescue beagle, Lucy, who valiantly tries to get the boys to play. Max tolerates her advances, but Izzie wants nothing to do with the shenanigans. All is well until Lucy fixates on Izzie and then Max springs into action defending his brother. It’s amazing to watch as Max chases Lucy away and then stands guard by the side of the bed under which Izzie has taken refuge. Through thick and thin, “blood” to the end!
