Let’s Go: Jet Ski Racing
Rev up your engines, and don your goggles: The weekend of May 19-20 in Niantic will feature Jet Ski races sponsored by East Coast Watercross.
Frank Crandall of East Lyme, last year’s winner of the first Niantic championship and currently ranked among the Top 10 in the world, said Jet Skiers will gather at Cini Park in East Lyme near the town boardwalk at 7 a.m., and racing will commence from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days between there and Hole in the Wall Beach in Niantic.
“It’s very family oriented,” Crandall said.
Jet Skiers will compete in a variety of categories, from juniors to adults.
Cost is $25 for juniors and $60 for adults per event.
“Everyone’s free to watch on the boardwalk,” he said. “It’s a really cool event.”
