The Oakdale Fire Company will conduct "Stop the Bleed" training at its firehouse at 444 Chapel Hill Road from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The federal "Stop the Bleed" campaign focuses on better preparing the public with life-saving skills and basic training that can prevent bleeding after everyday emergencies and man-made or natural disasters.

The Oakdale session, which is free and open to the public, stems from discussion by the Montville Public Safety Commission and school officials on ways to raise awareness and keep the community as safe as possible in emergency situations.
