East Lyme registrars to hold special registration session
East Lyme — The registrars of voters said in a news release that they will hold a special registration session from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, in anticipation of the upcoming state and federal Democratic and Republican primary races.
During the session, registrars will hear requests by people who have been removed or otherwise need to be added to the registry list, according to the release. An official voting list and a list of inactive voters will be available on the registrar of voters page of the town's website, eltownhall.com.
Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Aug. 9. In-person registration for the primary will end at noon on Aug. 13. Registration will be effective for the primary for those that are new registrations and anyone changing from unaffiliated to either Democratic or Republican. Only voters enrolled in a party may vote in that party’s primary.
The primaries will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14. District 1 will vote at East Lyme High School, while Districts 2 and 3 will vote at the East Lyme Community Center.
