Gubernatorial debate Wednesday in New London
New London — Gubernatorial candidates Bob Stefanowski, a Republican, and Ned Lamont, a Democrat, will debate at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., at 7 p.m. Wednesday in an event sponsored by The Day and WTNH News 8. The debate will be televised live on WTNH News 8’s sister station, WCTX MyTV9, and streamed live on www.WTNH.com and www.theday.com.
News 8 Chief Political Correspondent Mark Davis, Day Editorial Page Editor Paul Choiniere and Day Deputy Managing Editor Izaskun Larrañeta will serve as the panelists for the debate, and WTNH news anchor Ann Nyberg will be the moderator. Tickets for the debate are available at the Garde box office. There will be no entry to the debate after 6:45 p.m.
Independent Oz Griebel, who didn't qualify for the debate because of low poll numbers, has said that he will make an appearance at the debate and will hold a press briefing after it.
