Stonington — The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center will present a program on hoarding and how to deal with the problem on Nov. 15 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Service Master by Mason will present safety tips, do’s and don’ts for those who are affected by hoarders, and communication tips for discussing the topic.

Also discussed will be hoarding profiles and stages, types of hoards, and tips for interacting with hoarders.

According to Dr. David Tolin, author of Buried in Treasures, two to five percent of Americans may meet the criteria to be considered hoarders and it has become a surprisingly common disorder that had never really been recognized. Refreshments will be provided after the talk.
