Giving Tuesday highlighted at Stonington Free Library

Stonington Free Library has announced new opportunities for businesses to collaborate on Giving Tuesday, a global day of donations to nonprofits taking place Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has become an event that some people look forward to participating in.

The day serves as a reminer that local nonprofits count on the community for help.

Stonington Free Library Trustee Sage Williams recently announced the creation of the Stonington Small Business Collaborative to institute a community giving challenge.

Switz Real Estate Associates Inc. has ensured that donations to the library will be matched this year if sent through the Stonington Small Business Collaborative.

Local businesses that join the collaborative throughout December also will be highlighted by the library. To sign on, visit http://stoningtonfreelibrary.org/.
