Make a Difference: Mother's Retreat
WHO: Tatiana, a 22-year-old woman
AGENCY: Mother's Retreat, a Groton-based treatment program run by The Connection, helps pregnant and parenting women in recovery.
FAMILY SITUATION: Tatiana is the single mother of an 18-month-old daughter and is expecting a baby boy in January 2019. Currently unemployed and living in a residential program, Tatiana is applying for housing. Tatiana's goal is to get on her feet, build her skills and provide a stable life for her family.
WHAT TO GIVE: Tatiana could use weather-appropriate clothing, including size 8 jeans, medium-sized shirts and jacket, and hygiene products. Her daughter needs winter clothing size 2T, size 4 diapers, and age-appropriate toys. Tatiana’s soon-to-be son could use diapers, a car seat and anything related to having a newborn. The family could also use grocery store gift cards, gift cards to local community stores (Dollar Tree, Walgreens, Dunkin' Donuts, Walmart and Uber), movie tickets and SEAT bus tickets. Clothing and bus tickets will help Tatiana as she goes on job interviews, and the donations will benefit her family.
TO DONATE: Contact Mother's Retreat at (860) 405-2107.
