    Police announce road closures for Mystic, Noank Memorial Day parades

    Groton — The Groton Town Police Department announced road closures and traffic congestion alerts for the Noank and downtown Mystic areas, associated with the Mystic and Noank Memorial Day Parades on Monday, according to a news release.

    The Noank road closures will start about 10 a.m. Monday and remain in effect until a short period of time after the parade is complete. The closures include:

    [naviga:li]Elm Street, from Brook Street to Prospect Hill Road[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]The village area, including Mosher Avenue, Ward Avenue, Main Street, Pearl Street, High Street and Sylvan Street[/naviga:li]

    The Mystic road closures will occur approximately 2 p.m. Monday and remain in effect until approximately 30 minutes after the parade ends. The closures are:

    [naviga:li]West Main Street, from the drawbridge to High Street[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Water Street, from West Main Street to New London Road[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Pearl Street, from West Main Street to Clift Street[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Gravel Street, from West Main Street to Clift Street [/naviga:li]

    "Moderate traffic conditions in and around the Noank and downtown Mystic sections, before, during and after the parade, are anticipated," the news release states.
