    My Pet Pal: Bootsie

This is Bootsie! We searched the Humane Society, hoping to find a dog to keep our golden retriever company after losing her lifelong companion. While not finding a suitable dog, we spotted a tiny tuxedo kitten — it was love at first sight! He loves his sister, and we loved him immediately! After a bit of patience on his part, he taught me how to play fetch. He knows where his toys are kept and taught me when to retrieve them by trying to open the drawer. He happily comes running when called, loves to talk and responds to all questions! He delights in watching the world from one of his window perches. Although he’s an “indoor cat,” he relishes sunbathing on the deck and patio. He keeps my lap warm on cold evenings and my heart warm by his mere presence. He is now 15 years old. Although we’ve never owned a cat, we are amazed at what a difference he’s made in our lives.
