Eversource on Tuesday will begin its semiannual aerial inspections of high-voltage electrical equipment across the state.
The utility said in a news release Monday that the work involves using a helicopter outfitted with heat-sensing, infrared scanning technology that can detect equipment issues before a malfunction. Eversource described the helicopter as blue and silver, with tail number N1431W.
The inspections run through Saturday, Aug. 31. Eversource said flights will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
