    Salem honors its unsung heroes

    Recipients were honored for their years of commitment to volunteerism and community service during the 10th Salem Unsung Heroes Awards on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at the Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Company Firehouse.  The program was established in 1989 by a bipartisan coalition to showcase civic virtue within the community, and to promote future volunteerism efforts.

    This year's unsung hero recipients included Elbert Burr, Christina Grillo, Janet Griggs, Dan Holle, George Householder, Dave Kennedy, Pam Munro, Robert Neddo, Linda K. Schroeder, Sandra Teixeira and Charles (Chip) Weston.
