The trio decided to take advantage of the Thanksgiving break at Yale to visit and tour the area. "We were going to drive to Boston," said Davies, "but this is closer and so cute," she said of Mystic.

Donna Parssinen, of Westerly, and Eike Mittelbach, visiting from Frankfurt, Germany, paddle along the Groton side of the Mystic River enjoying the mild weather Tuesday.

Parssinen lived in Germany for a number of years and Mittelbach is visiting for Thanksgiving. "We had to do a little sightseeing," said Mittelbach. "Mystic is beautiful."
