    New London firefighters and students bond over lunch

    New London — City firefighters joined students for lunch Wednesday at Winthrop STEM Elementary School. 

    Their visit was part of the Lunch Tray Program, an initiative created by Katie Hallisey of Higher Edge. It gives students a connection to their community by having groups, such as police officers, firefighters and Rotarians, spend lunchtime with students once a month.
