Stonington — The harbor was alive with wildlife activity Friday, amid temperatures in the 40s.

A common loon was spotted diving for food in the waters of the harbor. Connecticut falls within the migratory area for the species, which typically lives and breeds in Canada and the far northern parts of the United States.

A harbor seal also was seen searching the waters near the Town Dock for food.
