Calvary Church in Stonington hosting Lenten lunches for 55th year
Stonington -- For the 55th year, the Episcopal Church Women of Calvary will host a series of Lenten luncheons to raise money for charitable causes beginning Monday, March 2, and continuing each Monday through March 30.
Lunch is served from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Calvary Church Parish Hall located at 27 Church St.
The first luncheon on March 2 will feature baked flounder with salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. A different menu is served each week and take out is available. Tickets are $12 with children under 6 free.
All profits help fund charities supported by the Episcopal Church Women of Calvary.
Profits from the first luncheon will assist Fellowship House Ministries, a faith-based agency in Groton which helps clients make a successful transition to society.
A short service of prayer precedes lunch at 11:45 in the church. In case of a snow cancellation, lunch will be served the following day.
