Westerly-Pawcatuck Memorial Day parade seeks participants

Stonington -- Organizers of the Westerly-Pawcatuck Memorial Day Parade are seeking participants for the Monday, May 25, parade, which begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Pawcatuck Shopping Center and ends in Wilcox Park in Westerly.

The parade is one of the oldest Memorial Day celebrations in the country, beginning shortly after the Civil War.

Anyone wishing to participate in the parade can contact Westerly-Pawcatuck Veterans Board of Control Chairman Dan LaPointe at dglorybound@aol.com or by calling (401) 596-0837 or (401) 207-9061.
