Gone fishin' in Norwich

Norwich — Chris Florentino of Norwich was spending some time fishing Wednesday on the shore of Spaulding Pond at Mohegan Park.

He said he wanted to get out of the house and was thankful that Gov. Ned Lamont, by executive order, opened the fishing season early. The governor did so due to the coronavirus, because it would limit the large crowds that typically gather at inland waters on the second day of April, the traditional opening day.
