Learning her wheels in Norwich
Norwich — Berkley Vendola, 7, of Norwich was learning how to ride her bike Thursday — with a little help from her father, Rick Vendola.
She had traded her schoolbooks for pedals on the athletic field at Norwich Technical High School. While her mother, Kara Kochanski-Vendola, snapped photos with her phone, her father was giving her push-offs to get going.
Kochanski-Vendola says she and her daughter usually go for a walk every day as Berkley's recess from her schoolwork at home, as schools have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Thursday they decided to practice bike riding instead.
